Considering the limited scope of the relief sought for, notice to the private respondents is dispensed with. 3. The petitioner submitted a representation dated 14.07.2026 seeking police protection for his life and property by requesting action against the persons who have allegedly attempted to encroach upon his property and have threatened him. Since the same is not considered by the respondents, the petitioner is before this Court. 4. Heard the learned counsel on either side and carefully perused the materials available on record. 2/5 https://www.mhc.tn.gov.in/judis W.P.Crl.(MD)No.4074 of 2026 5. It is needless to point out that whenever a representation of this nature is made to a Statutory Authority, there is a duty cast upon the respondent to consider the same on its own merits and pass appropriate orders in one way or other instead of keeping the same pending indefinitely. As such, non- consideration of the representation made by the Statutory Authority would amount to dereliction of duty and hence, this Court will be justified in invoking the extraordinary powers under Article 226 of the Constitution of India. 6. Without going into the merits of the case, this Court directs the 3rd respondent to consider the petitioner's representation, dated 14.07.2026 and pass appropriate orders within a period of four (4) weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. 7. With the above directions, this Writ Petition stands disposed of. 22.07.2026 NCC : Yes / No Index : Yes / No gbg 3/5 https://www.mhc.tn.gov.in/judis W.P.Crl.(MD)No.4074 of 2026 TO:- 1.The Superintendent of Police, Office of the Superintendent of Police, Ramanathapuram District. 2.The Deputy Superintendent of Police, Office of the Superintendent of Police, Thiruvadanai Taluk, Ramanathapuram District. 3.The Inspector of Police, Thondi Police Station, Thiruvadanai Taluk, Ramanathapuram District. 4.The Additional Public Prosecutor, Madurai Bench of Madras High Court, Madurai. 4/5 https://www.mhc.tn.gov.in/judis W.P.Crl.(MD)No.4074 of 2026 L.VICTORIA GOWRI, J. gbg Order made in W.P.Crl.(MD)No.4074 of 2026 Dated 22.07.2026 5/5 https://www.mhc.tn.gov.in/judis
