For Petitioner : Mr.A K Manikkam For R1 to R4 : Mr.B.Ramanathan Standing Counsel For R5 : Mr.T.Thirumurugan ORDER This writ petition has been filed seeking writ of mandamus directing the respondents 1 to 4 not to grant any terminal benefits or appointment on compassionate grounds to the fifth respondent by considering the representation of the petitioner dated 14.03.2026. 2. No mandamus can be issued by this Court directing the official respondents not to grant terminal benefits or appointment on compassionate ground to the fifth respondent, so long the fifth respondent is stated to be a legally wedded wife of the deceased employee i.e the son of the petitioner herein. If there is any dispute about the marriage of the fifth respondent with the deceased son of the petitioner or with reference to genuineness of the marriage certificate, 2/5 https://www.mhc.tn.gov.in/judis WP(MD). No.11834 of 2026 which is issued by competent authority, it is for the petitioner to take appropriate steps against the same. As the petitioner, being a mother of a deceased employee of the respondent Board, the petitioner also may be entitled for certain terminal benefits. Hence, the respondent Board is under obligation to consider the representation dated 14.03.2026 submitted by the petitioner for disbursal of the terminal benefits for which the petitioner is entitled to under law. 3. In the circumstances, the respondents 1 to 4 are directed to consider the representation dated 14.03.2026 submitted by the petitioner insofar as the disbursal of terminal benefits is concerned, by duly putting the fifth respondent herein on notice and disburse the terminal benefits for which the petitioner is entitled to as expeditiously as possible, at any rate, within a period of six weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.
