For Petitioner : Mr.K.Sathish Kumar For Respondents : Mr.M.Mahaboob Athiff Counsel for Government of Tamil Nadu ORDER This Writ Petition has been filed seeking issuance of a Writ of Certiorarified Mandamus to call for the records pertaining to the online impugned order in REV-114 (Legal Heir Certificate), dated 14.07.2026, passed by the first respondent, which is available only on the web portal, quash the same, and consequently direct the respondents to issue a Legal Heir Certificate in respect of the petitioner's deceased father, namely, Kalimuthu, based on the petitioner's self-declaration. 2.By consent of the learned counsel appearing on either side, the Writ Petition is taken up for final disposal at the stage of admission itself. 2/6 https://www.mhc.tn.gov.in/judis W.P(MD)No.21341 of 2026 3.The learned counsel appearing for the petitioner submitted that the petitioner is the son born through the first wife of the deceased, Kalimuthu, who died on 07.06.2026. Thereafter, the petitioner submitted an application before the first respondent seeking issuance of a Legal Heir Certificate. However, the said application came to be rejected by the impugned order dated 14.07.2026 on the ground that the petitioner had not included the legal heirs of the other two wives of the deceased. Aggrieved by the said order, the petitioner has filed the present Writ Petition. 4.The learned counsel appearing for the petitioner further submitted that the petitioner would be satisfied if this Court grants liberty to him either to submit a fresh application by including all the legal heirs as indicated in the Revenue Inspector's Report or to approach the competent Civil Court for appropriate relief. 3/6 https://www.mhc.tn.gov.in/judis W.P(MD)No.21341 of 2026 5.In view of the above submission, this Writ Petition is disposed of granting liberty to the petitioner to submit a fresh application before the competent authority by including all the legal heirs, as indicated in the Revenue Inspector's Report, if so advised. It is also open to the petitioner to approach the competent Civil Court for appropriate relief, if required. There shall be no order as to costs.
