No.21286 of 2026 ORDER An objection has been raised by the Registry regarding maintainability of this writ petition before the Madurai Bench of Madras High Court on the ground that the entire cause of action has arisen within the territorial jurisdiction of the Principal Seat of this Court. 2. The learned counsel for the petitioner submits that the petitioner has been residing within the jurisdiction of this Court and that the petitioner was also arrested by Dindigul Police, which is the prime cause for placing the petitioner under suspension and the said facts give rise for cause of action for the petitioner to approach this Court and therefore this Court has got jurisdiction. 3.From a perusal of the proceedings in Rc.Y2/26731/2025(Sy) also dated 10.10.2025 would disclose that the same was issued by the first respondent who is located at Chennai placing the petitioner under suspension while he was working as Deputy Inspector of Survey Dharapuram Taluk, Tirupur District. Admittedly, Tirupur District will come within the jurisdiction of the Principal Seat of this Court. Further, 2/5 https://www.mhc.tn.gov.in/judis WP(MD). No.21286 of 2026 as seen from the said proceedings, the Headquarters of the petitioner is stated to be Dharapuram, Tirupur District, which is also within the jurisdiction of the Principal Seat. The arrest of the petitioner does not give any cause of action for the petitioner to seek any relief with reference to his suspension from service. 4. In the circumstances, this Court is of the considered view that neither the present place of residence of the petitioner nor the arrest of the petitioner by the Dindigul police will give rise to any cause of action for the petitioner to approach this Court. 5. In the circumstances, this writ petition is dismissed as not maintainable before this Bench with liberty to the petitioner to approach the Principal Seat on the very same cause of action. No costs. Consequently, connected miscellaneous petition is closed. 28.07.2026 NCC : Yes/No Index : Yes/No Internet : Yes/No CM 3/5 https://www.mhc.tn.gov.in/judis WP(MD). No.21286 of 2026 TO 1.
