W.P(MD)No.21511 of 2026 O R D E R This Writ Petition has been filed seeking issuance of a Writ of Mandamus, directing the respondents to issued the legal heirship certificate, by considering the representation of the petitioner dated 01.07.2026.
2. Heard the learned counsel for the parties. By consent of both parties, the Writ Petition is taken up for final disposal at the admission stage itself.
3. The learned counsel appearing for the petitioner submitted that, for the purpose of effecting mutation of the revenue records in favour of the legal heirs, legal heirship certificates in respect of the petitioner's grandmothers, namely, late Ponnammal and late Nagammal, are required. In this regard, the petitioner submitted a representation dated 01.07.2026 before the respondents seeking issuance of the said legal heirship certificates. Since the said representation has not been considered till date, the petitioner has approached this Court by way of filing the present writ petition seeking a direction to the respondents to consider and dispose of the representation within a time frame to 2/5 https://www.mhc.tn.gov.in/judis

4. The learned counsel further submitted that it would suffice if this Court issues a direction to the third respondent to consider the petitioner's representation dated 01.07.2026 and pass appropriate orders thereon within a time frame to be fixed by this Court.
5. Considering the above facts and circumstances of the case and without expressing any opinion on the merits of the matter, this Writ Petition is
disposed of with a direction to the third respondent to consider the representation of the petitioner dated 01.07.2026 and pass appropriate orders on merits and in accordance with law, after providing an opportunity of hearing to all the concerned legal heirs, if required. Such exercise shall be completed as expeditiously as possible, preferably within a period of four (4) weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.
