Srinivas, learned Standing Counsel, accepts notice for the respondent. 2. The petitioner has filed this writ petition seeking a direction to the respondent to consider the representation dated 05.12.2024 and release the balance amount of ₹3,72,198/- in terms of the recommendation made by the Ombudsman by order dated 21.01.2026. 3. The petitioner states that he was entrusted with several works by the respondent Corporation and that he completed the works to its satisfaction. However, the respondent has not released the balance amount due to him. The respondent does not dispute its liability to pay the said amount. 4. Learned Standing Counsel, on instructions, submitted that the balance amount payable to the petitioner would be released within a period of four weeks. 5. In view of the admitted liability of the respondent Corporation, the https://www.mhc.tn.gov.in/judis W.P.No.30047 of 2026 Page Nos.3/4 writ petition is disposed of with a direction to the respondent to release the balance amount of ₹3,72,198/- to the petitioner within a period of four weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. If the amount is not paid within the stipulated time, it shall carry interest at the rate of 8% per annum from the date of default till the date of actual payment.
