Mr. Gaurav Pawar, Advocate holding brief of Ms. Prabha Naithani, Advocate for the petitioner. Mr. N.S. Pundir, Deputy Advocate General with Mr. Yogesh Pandey, Deputy Advocate General for the State. 2. By means of this writ petition, petitioner has sought the following reliefs: “I. To issue a writ order or direction in the nature of mandamus commanding and directing the respondent authorities to ensure time bound conduct of elections of the Management Committee of Shri Ram Leela Committee Kashipur Udham Singh Nagar under supervision of duly appointed Election Officer i.e. Tahsildar Kashipur. II. Issue a writ order or direction in the nature of mandamus directing the respondent authorities to take immediate steps to secure and take custody of the society’s record to ensure fairness and transparency. III. Issue a writ order or direction in the nature of mandamus directing the respondent authorities to appoint an administrator/receiver to manage the affairs and safeguard of the assets of the society pending completion of the free and fair election in the supervision of duly appointed Election Officer. IV. Issue a writ order or direction in the nature of mandamus directing the respondent authorities to decide the pending representation of petitioner.” 3. Learned State Counsel, however, has raised objection that petitioner is not a member of the society concerned, therefore he cannot seek a direction to the authority to hold elections of the Ram Leela Committee. 4. This Court finds substance in the said 2026:UHC:3808 submission. Only a member of a society can seek holding of elections. 5. Thus, this Court is satisfied that petitioner does not have any locus to maintain the writ petition. 6. The writ petition is, accordingly, dismissed. (Manoj Kumar Tiwari, J.) 18.05.2026 Mahinder/
