The petitioner’s prayer seeking higher scale of pay on account of enhancement of his educational qualification in terms of the judgment passed by the Hon’ble Special Bench of this Court on 7th February, 2024 in a batch of writ petitions, one of which was WPA 303 of 2023 ( Utpal Kantai Karan –Vs State of West Bengal & Ors.) is pending consideration before the respondent authority. 4. Without entering into the merit of the claim of the petitioner, the instant writ petition stands disposed of by directing the District Inspector of Schools to consider the prayer of the petitioner for grant of higher scale of pay in light of the judgment delivered by the 2 Hon’ble Special Bench at the earliest but positively within a period of eight weeks from the date of communication of this order. 5. If the prayer of the petitioner to receive higher scale of pay is accepted by the authority, then necessary consequential steps shall be taken without any further delay. 6. The writ petition stands disposed of. 7. Urgent photostat certified copy of this order, if applied for, be supplied to the parties upon compliance of all requisite formalities. (Amrita Sinha, J.)
