Xavier For Respondents : Mr.P.F.Ferlin Castro Standing Counsel ORDER The present Writ Petition has been filed for the issuance of a Writ of Mandamus, directing the respondents to consider the petitioner's representation dated 16.06.2026, refer the petitioner to the competent Medical Board for assessment of his medical condition, and thereafter provide him with suitable alternative / light duty commensurate with his medical fitness, such as Diesel Pump Operator, Security, Office Assistant, Traffic Duty or any other suitable equivalent post, within a time frame to be fixed by this Court and thus render justice. 2. The petitioner was originally appointed as a Driver in the respondent Corporation. Subsequently, the petitioner has suffered an eye defect. Considering the same, the respondents have assigned alternative employment of cash duty. Accordingly, the respondents are directed to refer the petitioner to the Medical Board within a period of one week from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. Until then, the petitioner shall continue to perform the cash duty assigned by the respondents. The said medical examination shall be completed within a period of eight weeks from the date of reference. Based on the medical report, the respondents shall reconsider the petitioner's claim for assignment to any duty other than cash duty. 4. With the above directions, this Writ Petition is disposed of.
