GP FOR FINANCE PLANNING The Court made the following order: Heard Sri N.Siva Reddy, learned counsel for the petitioner, learned Assistant Government Pleader for Social Welfare, learned Assistant Government Pleader for Finance and Planning and learned Assistant Government Pleader for Revenue appearing for respondents. 2. The grievance of the petitioner in the instant writ petition is against the action of the Respondents in not paying the bills to the petitioner to a tune of Rs.5,90,013/- towards the food supplied by the petitioner during the 2nd wave of Covid-19 Pandemic to the patients at Covid Care centers in Rampachodavaram Division of composite East Godavari District. 3. Learned counsel for the petitioner contended that the Government has issued a circular on 09.07.2020 for supply of food to patients suffering from Covid in the hospitals. The 5th respondent issued instructions to the 6th respondent to arrange food and other facilities at Lenora Hospital, Rampachodavaram and YTC, Addatheegala. The petitioner had accordingly supplied the food, the amount payable towards the said supply is Rs.9,87,035/-. It is contended that the respondents have made part payment 3 of Rs.3,97,022/- to the petitioner. However, the balance amount of Rs.5,90,013/- remains unpaid. Aggrieved by the same, the petitioner has approached this Court by way of instant writ petition. 5. Today, when the matter is taken up for consideration, the learned Assistant Government Pleader for Social Welfare placed before the Court a copy of the written remarks dated 06.07.2026 received from the 6th respondent. A perusal of the same reflect as follows: “It is submitted that during the second wave of the Covid-19 pandemic, food was supplied to the inmates of the Covid Care Centre at Musinikunta, Devipatnam Mandal, by M/s. MVR Restaurant, Gokavaram. An amount of Rs.5,81,910/- is still pending towards the admitted claim due to non-availability of budget. This office had earlier requested release of the required budget vide the reference 1st cited. Subsequently, the District Collector, erstwhile Alluri Sitharama Raju District, Paderu, vide the reference 2nd cited, also requested your office to release the pending budget relating to Covid-19 expenditure incurred prior to the reorganization of districts. Meanwhile, the proprietor of M/s. MVR Restaurant has filed W.P. No.9233 of 2026 before the Hon'ble High Court of Andhra Pradesh seeking payment of the pending amount along with interest. This office has submitted instructions to the Government Pleader stating that the payment has remained pending solely due to non-release of budget and that the eligible amount will be released immediately upon receipt of the required funds. In view of the pendency of the above Writ Petition and the possibility of further legal and financial implications to the Government. I request you to accord top priority to the matter and arrange to release the required budget at the earliest to enable this office to settle the pending claim of Rs.5,81,910/- payable to M/s. MVR Restaurant, Gokavaram.” 4 6. Having regard to the above as Rs.5,81,910/- is an admitted amount, this Court deems it appropriate to dispose of the writ petition with a direction to the respondents to release the admitted bill amount of Rs.5,81,910/- to the petitioner within a period of three (03) months from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. 7. With the above observation, the Writ Petition is disposed of. No order as to costs.
