By the instant writ petition, the petitioner is praying for the following reliefs: - “a) To direct the respondent no.-2, Court of Sub- Divisional Magistrate/ Prescribed Authority, Gangolihat, District Pithoragarh (Respondent No. 2) to expedite/ decide the Election Petition No. 03/2025 titled as Saurabh Singh vs. Pramod Singh on merits within a fixed period, (Annexure No.1) Pg No.11 to 17 as the matter involves a challenge to a public office held by an allegedly unqualified person, as expeditiously as possible and the Hon'ble Court deem it fit & proper some time limit may be fixed for deciding the Election Petition. b) Issue any other and further order or direction which this Hon'ble Court may deem fit and proper under the facts and circumstances of the case. C). Award costs of the petition to the petitioner.” 3. The relief as sought appears to be innocuous. 4. Mr. Ghanshyam Joshi, learned Additional CSC for the State has not objected the said request. 5. In such view of the matter, the instant writ petition is disposed of finally with the 2026:UHC:3557 direction to the learned Sub-Divisional Magistrate/ Prescribed Authority, Gangolihat, District Pithoragarh to expedite the Election Petition No.3 of 2025, “Saurabh Singh vs. Pramod Singh”, as early as possible, preferably within six months from the date of production of certified copy of this order.
