Selva Aditya For Respondents : Mr.S.Deenadhayalan, Standing Counsel O R D E R This Writ Petition has been filed for issuance of a Writ of Mandamus, directing the respondents to remove the basement for electricity transmission tower constructed in the petitioners property in Survey No.45/1, Maravanmadam Village, Thoothukudi Taluk and District and forbearing the respondents from making any further construction, installation of electricity transmission tower or development in whatsoever nature in Survey No.45/1, Maravanmadam Village, Thoothukudi Taluk and District. 2. The learned counsel appearing for the petitioner submitted that the petitioner is the owner of the property comprised in Survey No. 45/1, situated at 2/5 https://www.mhc.tn.gov.in/judis W.P(MD)No.20349 of 2026 Maravanmadam Village, Thoothukudi District. According to the petitioner, the respondent Electricity Board erected transmission towers and drew high-tension electric lines over the petitioner's property without issuing any prior notice and without paying compensation. Aggrieved by the same, the present writ petition has been filed. 3. The learned Standing Counsel appearing for the respondents submitted that, during the pendency of the writ petition, compensation has already been determined under the provisions of the Indian Telegraph Act. An award has been passed determining compensation at Rs.1,27,400/-. It is further submitted that a copy of the award, along with the Demand Draft for the compensation amount, will be forwarded to the petitioner within a period of two weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. 4. Recording the above submission made by the learned Standing Counsel for the respondent, this Writ Petition is disposed of with a direction to the respondent to forward a copy of the compensation award together with the Demand Draft for the awarded amount to the petitioner within a period of two 3/5 https://www.mhc.tn.gov.in/judis W.P(MD)No.20349 of 2026 weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.
