A. 1 06.04.2026 Court No.19 BP WPA 7219 of 2026 Himangsu Kumar Paul -versus- The State of West Bengal & Ors. Mr. Palash Bapari ..for the petitioner The petitioner has prayed for a direction upon the respondent authorities to consider and dispose of the representation dated 5th March, 2026. After going through the representation dated 5th March, 2026 this Court finds that the petitioner has prayed for correction of the record of rights. Thus it appears that the petitioner has alleged in action on the part of the Block Land and Land Reforms Officer, who is an authority under the West Bengal Land Reforms Act which is a specified Act under Section 2(r) of the West Bengal Land Reforms and Tenancy Tribunal Act, 1997. In view of the alternative and efficacious remedy available under the 1997 Act this Court is not inclined to grant any relief to the petitioner. Accordingly, WPA 7219 of 2026 stands disposed of without entering into the merits of the claim made in this writ petition and leaving the petitioner free to 2 approach the appropriate forum in accordance with law. There shall be however no order as to costs. Urgent certified photocopy of this order, if applied for, be supplied to the parties expeditiously on compliance of usual legal formalities.
