The learned Standing Counsel appearing for the respondents submitted that the petitioner had originally applied for an electricity service connection in the year 1997 and that his seniority for grant of service connection matured in the year 2010. It is further submitted that, in compliance with the order of this Court, the petitioner's seniority has to be re-fixed along with similarly placed applicants in accordance with the prevailing Government orders and the applicable regulations. The learned Standing Counsel further submitted that the said exercise of re-fixation of seniority would be completed within a period of four weeks and thereafter the petitioner's claim for electricity service connection would be considered strictly in accordance with his revised seniority. 5. This Court has considered the submissions made on either side. It is seen that while passing the order dated 09.09.2025, this Court had directed the respondents to consider the petitioner's application as a fresh application and process the same in accordance with the rules as expeditiously as possible. No specific outer time limit was fixed by this Court for completing the exercise.
In view of the submission made by the learned Standing Counsel that the process of re-fixation of seniority will be completed within a period of four weeks and the 3/5 https://www.mhc.tn.gov.in/judis
CONTP(MD)No.1863 of 2026 petitioner's application will thereafter be considered in accordance with law, this Court is of the view that no further orders are required in the present contempt proceedings. 6. Recording the above submission of the learned Standing Counsel, the Contempt Petition is closed.
