WP No. 27463 of 2026 __________ Page2 of 4 portion in Melpatti Ponnappa Mudali Street, Perambur, Chennai, comprised in R.S.No.784/59 (Old R.S.No.781/1) was subjected to partition and was allotted to the share of one Mrs.Uma Devi, wife of Chellappan vide partition deed dated 01.09.1986 along with other properties of the said schedule to be taken by the one Saraswathi, sister of said Uma Devi. However, in the year 2022, the said Uma Devi died and her husband Mr.Chellappan, being the sole legal heir entitled to half share in the above said property and executed a sale deed dated 16.03.2026 in favour of the petitioner and presented the same for registration before the respondent along with certified copy of the said partition deed dated
01.09.1986. However, the respondent refused to register the same citing that the original partition deed was not produced. Hence, this writ petition. 3. Mr.M.Roshan Atiq, learned Government's Counsel accepts notice on behalf of respondent and submitted that no such sale deed dated 16.03.2026 was presented by the petitioner. In the event the said document is presented, the same will be considered on merits and in accordance with law. 4. Heard the learned counsel on either side and perused the materials available on record. 5.
