The grievance of the petitioner in the instant writ petition is against the action of the 2nd respondent in not disposing the appeal filed under Section 4 of Maintenance and Welfare of Parents and Senior Citizens Act, 2007 (hereinafter referred to as ‘the Act’). 3. Today, when the matter is taken up for consideration, learned Assistant Government Pleader for Social Welfare appearing for the respondents has placed before the Court a copy of the written instructions received from the 2nd respondent dated 14.07.2026. A perusal of the same would reflect that, after filing of the appeal by the petitioner, the relevant records have been called for from the Maintenance Tribunal vide letter dated 13.07.2026. It is further stated 3 that the matter would be disposed of after issuing notice to the respective parties. 4. Having regard to the contentions advanced, this Court deems it appropriate to dispose of the writ petition with a direction to the 2nd respondent to pass appropriate orders on the appeal filed by the petitioner within a stipulated period, in accordance with the provisions of the Act. 5. Accordingly, the Writ Petition is disposed of. There shall be no order as to costs.
