IN THE HIGH COURT AT CALCUTTA Item No.38
CRIMINAL MISCELLANEOUS JURISDICTION Ct.No.35 dc. Rejected C.R.M. (M) 290 of 2026
In Re : An Application for bail under Section 483 of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita, 2023 filed in connection with Uluberia Police Station Case No. 487 of 2025 dated 13.10.2025 under Sections 179/180 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, 2023.

In Re : Sarauddin Sha @ Saharuddin Sha and another ... Petitioners.
Mr. Tanmay Chowdhury, Ms. Ritoprita Ghosh
... For the Petitioners.
Ms. Sukanya Bhattacharyya, Mr. Rajes Jana
... For the State.
Learned advocate appearing for the petitioners submits that the petitioners are in custody for 130 days and few Fake Indian Currency Notes have been recovered from the present petitioners. Learned advocate appearing for the State, on the other hand, opposes the prayer for bail and submits that there was initial recovery as well as subsequent recovery. Taking into account the subject-matter of the case, at this stage, I am not inclined to release the petitioners on bail. As such, the prayer for bail of the petitioners is rejected. Petitioners would renew their prayer for bail after the evidence of the seizure list witnesses is over. Let the State give priority for examination of the seizure list witnesses after the stage of consideration of charges is over.
2 The application for bail, being CRM (M) 290 of 2026, is, thus, disposed of. All concerned parties shall act on the server copy of this order duly downloaded from the official website of this Court. Urgent photostat certified copy of this order, if applied for, be supplied to the parties upon compliance with all requisite formalities.
