This Criminal Original Petition seeks to quash the F.I.R. in Crime No.293 of 2025 on the file of the Inspector of Police, Jayankondam Police Station, Ariyalur District for alleged offences under Sections 296(b), 115(2), 118(1), 351(3) of B.N.S. 2023 and Sec.4 of the Prohibition of Harassment of Women Act, 2002 and Sec.25 (1A) of the Arms Act, 1959 on the ground of compromise between the parties. The parties are present before the court and, on examination, stand by their compromise and do not want the case to proceed further. 2. The gist of facts leading to the instant case are that on account of a land dispute, the accused are said to have abused the de facto complainant and also attacked them and behaved in an obscene manner. The parties have subsequently ironed out their differences. 4.
Thus, it can be seen that this matter is a fit case for the exercise of extraordinary jurisdiction to quash the case on compromise. 5. Accordingly, this Crl.O.P. No.15064 of 2026 stands allowed.
