No. 1751 of 2026 __________ Page2 of 4 ORDER This Writ Petition (Criminal) has been filed seeking a direction to the respondents to defreeze the petitioner’s bank account bearing Account No.70280100005215, maintained with the third respondent. 2. Heard the learned counsel appearing on either side and perused the materials available on record. 3. The petitioner is holding a bank account bearing Account No.70280100005215 with the third respondent. While being so, based on the instructions issued by the second respondent, the third respondent had frozen the petitioner’s bank account and did not permit him to operate the same. 4. On instructions, the learned Counsel for Government of Tamil Nadu (Criminal Side) appearing for the respondents 1 and 2 submitted that based on the complaint received from Cyber Crime Police, a sum of Rs.85,000/- has been transferred to the petitioner’s account maintained with the third respondent by using the said account as a second layer account. That apart, as instructed by the Cyber Crime Police, Tiruvananthapuram Rural, State of Kerala, a sum of Rs.26,000/- was transferred to the petitioner's account by using the same as a second layer account. No. 1751 of 2026 __________ Page3 of 4 Ranipet, instructed the third respondent to freeze the petitioner's account, since a sum of Rs.90,000/- was transferred to the petitioner’s account maintained by using it as a second layer account. Thus, a total sum of Rs.2,01,000/- was transferred to the account of the petitioner using the account as a second layer account by the accused. 5. In view of the above, the third respondent is directed to mark a lien over the petitioner’s account to the tune of Rs.2,01,000/- and permit the petitioner to operate the account in respect of the remaining amount, if any. 6. With the above direction, this Writ Petition (Criminal) stands disposed of.
