ORDER When the matter was taken up for hearing today, Mr.N.K.Vanan, learned counsel for the respondent was present at the time of hearing. The learned counsel for the respondent submitted that the applicant was directed to settle the https://www.mhc.tn.gov.in/judis
CONT P No. 1110 of 2026 __________ Page2 of 4 amount within a weeks’ time and the amount was not settled within the time limit. Thereafter, the vehicle was sold in an auction held during December
2025.

Per contra, the learned counsel for the petitioner submitted that immediately after the order was passed on 01.09.2025, an attempt was made to pay the amount, but it was refused to be received by the respondent. Once again, after the order copy was furnished, the amount was paid on 16.09.2025. Therefore, the respondent in spite of receiving the amount failed to redeliver the vehicle.
3. In the considered view of this Court, the sale of the vehicle had taken place pursuant to the interim order passed under Section 17 of the Arbitration and Conciliation Act, by the Arbitral Tribunal. In the light of this development, no further orders can be passed in this contempt petition.
