ORDER This writ petition has been filed seeking a writ of mandamus directing the respondents to consider the petitioner’s representation dated 10.04.2026 in the light of Section 24(2) of the Right to Fair Compensation and Transparency in Land Acquisition, Rehabilitation and Resettlement Act, 2013, in respect of Survey 895/2 measuring 0.24 hectares, Survey No.896/2 measuring 0.33 hectares and Survey No.940 measuring 0.31 hectares situated at Hosur Village and Taluk, Krishnagiri District and issue a No Objection Certificate within a time frame.

Learned counsel for the petitioner would submit that the petitioner is the owner of the aforesaid lands and he has been in possession and enjoyment of the same for several decades and when these lands were subjected to acquisition proceedings, he objected to the acquisition and also inadequate proposed compensation; however, neither the compensation has been paid to him nor the possession of his lands taken by the authorities and the proceedings have remained dormant for several years; hence, the petitioner submitted a representation dated 10.04.2026 to the respondents seeking release of his lands from the acquisition proceedings; since no orders have been passed on the said representation, this writ petition has been filed. https://www.mhc.tn.gov.in/judis

3. Mr. B. Pachaiyappan, learned Government Counsel, accepting notice on behalf of the respondents, submitted that the petitioner’s representation dated 10.04.2026 will be considered by the second respondent within a period of eight weeks.
4. Heard the learned counsel on either side and perused the materials available on record.

Considering the limited scope of the relief sought in the writ petition, this Court, without expressing any opinion on the merits of the case, directs the second respondent to consider and pass appropriate orders on the petitioner's representation dated 10.04.2026, after issuing due notice to the petitioner and other aggrieved persons, if any, on its own merits and in accordance with law, within a period of eight weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.
