Angami, learned PP for the State. Seen the Office note dated 18.02.2026 which reflects that the notice has been served on the respondent no. 2. However, none appears for the respondent no. 2 today. This is an interlocutory application praying for condonation of delay of 991 days in filing the connected appeal against the Judgment and Order dated 28.07.2023 passed in GR case no. 347/2021 by the learned Special Judge, Fast Track Special Court, POCSO, Dimapur, sentencing the appellant to undergo rigorous imprisonment for a period of 20 (twenty) years with a fine of Rs. 20,000/- only, under section 376 (3) IPC read with Section 4 POCSO Act. It is submitted that the applicant is serving his sentence in jail, and therefore, there is a delay in preferring this connected appeal. We have considered the submissions made and the reasons given for the delay and we are satisfied with the causes shown. Accordingly, the delay of 991 days in condoned. I.A. stands disposed of.
