SUOKHRIE (R-3), Page No.# 2/3 BEFORE HON'BLE MRS. JUSTICE YARENJUNGLA LONGKUMER ORDER Date : 21-05-2026 Learned counsel for the petitioner, Mr. Moa Jamir is present. Also heard Ms. V. Suokhrie, learned counsel for all the respondents. 2. The learned counsel for the respondents has furnished a copy of the Letter dated 09.03.2026 addressed to the Commissioner & Secretary to the Government of Nagaland, Works & Housing Department, Nagaland, Kohima from the Engineer-in-Chief, NPWD, wherein a list of employees who have completed 30 years of service as on 01.01.2026 has been submitted to the Government for regularization. It is also seen that the name of the petitioner appears at Sl.No. 11 in the said list. 3. Learned counsel submits that the direction of this Court in WP(C)/316/2023 was to take effective steps for the purpose of consideration of the case of the petitioner in terms of the Notification dated 17.03.2015 as well as the O.M. dated 05.03.2025 and the same was to be done preferably within 4 (four) weeks from the date a certified copy of the instant order is served on the R-3. Learned counsel, therefore, submits that the R-3/Chief Engineer, PWD (Housing) has already taken the steps and, thereafter, the proposal for regularization of the petitioner in terms of the O.M. dated 05.03.2025 as well as the Order dated 17.03.2015 has already been processed and, therefore, there has been substantial compliance of the order of this Court and it is only a matter of time before the regularization order in respect of the petitioner is issued. Page No.# 3/3 Accordingly, the learned counsel prays that the instant petition may be closed. 4. On the other hand, Mr. Moa Jamir, the learned counsel for the petitioner has prayed that the present application may be kept pending till such regularization order is issued inasmuch as it took the respondents one year in order to even complete the verification process. 5. The Court has considered the submissions of the counsel for the parties and has perused the records, especially the letter dated 09.03.2026 which is produced today. This Court is of the view that substantial compliance has been made by the respondents towards compliance of the direction of this Court’s order in WP(C)/316/2023. Accordingly, the matter is closed and disposed of. 6. Letter dated 09.03.2026 is kept on record and marked as ‘X’. JUDGE Comparing Assistant
