ORDER The present Writ Petition has been filed for the issuance of a Writ of Mandamus, directing the respondents to grant an assignment of agricultural land in the Petitioner's name in respect of the property comprised in Survey Nos.211/4, 211/5, 211/6 and 211/7 to an extent of 1.28.0 Hectares. 2. The learned counsel for the petitioner submitted that the petitioner is in possession of the land in Survey Nos.211/4, 211/5, 211/6 and 211/7 to an extent of 1.28.0 Hectares situated at Perungudi Village, Thirumayam Taluk, Pudukkottai District in the light of Na.Ka.No.A6/4246/2013 dated 18.11.2014. He further submitted that the petitioner's application was already considered by the second respondent vide order dated 18.11.2024, but the District Collector/first respondent has not granted any patta so far. The learned counsel for the respondents submitted that the petitioner is seeking a large extent of land and the same cannot be granted. 4. This Court is of the considered opinion that only the extent of land permissible under the applicable Government Orders/rules shall be considered. Therefore, the District Collector/first respondent is directed to consider the petitioner's application in accordance with the applicable Government Orders and pass appropriate orders within a period of 12 weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this Court. 5. While passing the order, the first respondent shall take into consideration the recommendation of the second respondent. The respondents are at liberty to impose any appropriate conditions like not to alienate, in addition to any other conditions they may deem fit, while considering the petitioner's application.
