Learned advocate appearing for the petitioner submits petitioner is in custody for 1 year and 1 month and till date no witness has been examined, although charges have been framed. Learned advocate for the State has drawn the attention of the Court to the statement of the victim which includes Section 183 of the BNSS as well as the medical report. 2 I have also taken into account the accompanying statements. Having regard to the gravity of the offence, I am not inclined to release the petitioner on bail at this stage. Accordingly, the prayer for bail of the petitioner in CRM (M) 2372 of 2025 is rejected.
