Perusal of the writ petition would show that the father of the petitioner who was Sub-Engineer in Panchayat and Rural Development Department died in harness on 08.05.1998. The mother of the petitioner moved application for grant of compassionate appointment on behalf of her son in the month of June, 1998. The petitioner herein who is son of the deceased moved separate application after attaining age of majority. The application so moved by the petitioner has been rejected by the Additional Commissioner (Development)/respondent No.2 vide order date 18.02.2022 on the ground that the application for grant compassionate appointment was moved after expiry of prescribed period of limitation. 3. Mr. Amandeep Singh, learned Panel Lawyer appearing for the State/respondents would submit that the application was moved by the petitioner at belated stage after attaining majority and therefore, it has rightly been rejected by the respondent authorities. 4. I have heard Mr. Amandeep Singh and perused the documents annexed with the instant petition. 5. Father of the petitioner died on 08.05.1998 before bifurcation of State of Madhya Pradesh. The petitioner has not arrayed State of Madhya Pradesh as party respondent. The application was moved by the petitioner for grant of compassionate appointment on 23.09.2021 after 3 attaining the age of majority. The petitioner has not placed on record policy for compassionate appointment which was in existence in the year 1998. Respondent No. 2 in its order dated 18.02.2022 has specifically stated that according to Circular dated 01.05.2000, application for grant of compassionate appointment could have been moved if dependent attains age of majority within 03 years from date of death of government servant. 6. Taking into consideration the reasons assigned by respondent No. 2 in its order dated 18.02.2022 and the facts discussed above, in my opinion, no case is made out to interfere with the order dated 18.02.2022 (Annexure P-1).
