GP FOR REVENUE The Court made the following: 3 THE HONOURABLE SRI JUSTICE TARLADA RAJASEKHAR RAO WRIT PETITION No.19232 OF 2026 ORDER: The present Writ Petition is filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India seeking the following relief: “…to issue an appropriate Writ, order or direction, more particularly one in the nature of Writ of Mandamus, declaring the inaction of the 3rd respondent in not concluding and disposing of the proceedings bearing Ref.No.Sr.Citizen E/002/2025, arising out of the petitioner’s complaint dated 22.09.2025, as illegal, arbitrary, unreasonable, contrary to the provisions of the Maintenance and Welfare of Parents and Senior Citizens Act, 2007 and the Andhra Pradesh Maintenance of Parents and Senior Citizens Rules, 2011 and violative of Articles 14 and 21 of the Constitution of India; and consequently direct the 3rd respondent to conclude the enquiry in Ref.No.Sr.Citizen E/002/2025 and pass an appropriate, reasoned and speaking order, strictly in accordance with law, after affording an opportunity to the petitioner and all the parties concerned, within a period of four weeks or as expeditiously as possible within a timeframe fixed by this Court and to pass such other order or orders.…” 2. Heard learned counsel for the petitioner and learned Assistant Government Pleader appearing on behalf of respondents. 3. The short grievance in this writ petition is that the petitioner herein filed an application before the 3rd respondent invoking the provisions of the Maintenance and Welfare of Parents and Senior Citizens Act, 2007. However, the 3rd respondent has not disposed of the said application. Hence, the present writ petition has been filed seeking a direction to the 3rd respondent to dispose of the said application expeditiously. 4. Learned counsel for the petitioner submits that it is the duty cast upon the 3rd respondent to dispose of the application within a period of ninety days 4 from the date of filing of the application. The present application is filed in the month of September, 2025. 5. Therefore, the present Writ Petition is disposed of, at the admission stage, directing the 3rd respondent to dispose of the application filed by the senior citizen as expeditiously as possible, not later than three months from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. There shall be no order as to costs.
