ORDER This writ petition has been filed seeking a direction to the 1st respondent to direct the first respondent to consider the petitioner's representation dated 12.06.2026 on the basis of the complaint given by the petitioner to the 2nd respondent on 26.03.2026. 2. The learned Counsel appearing for the petitioner submitted that the petitioner is the Poojari/Archakar of Sri Vinayagar Temple situated at Tharapatti Village, Melakkal Post, Madurai West Taluk, Madurai District. Prior to the petitioner, his grandfather and father namely Alagarsamy, had been serving as Poojaris of the temple and performing the poojas. After their demise, the petitioner took over the said responsibility and has since been performing the poojas as the Poojari of the temple. 2/6 https://www.mhc.tn.gov.in/judis

3. He further submitted that the said temple is more than 200 years old. Once in every two years, renovation works are undertaken in the temple. The petitioner, along with the seven Karaikkarargal, decided to rebuild the said Sri Vinayagar Temple in the village. On 12.02.2026, the petitioner and the village elders resolved to repair and renovate the said temple with the cooperation of the seven Karaikkarargal of the village. Thereafter, on 26.03.2026, when the renovation work of the said Sri Vinayagar Temple commenced, the private respondents herein and others allegedly entered the temple premises and prevented the petitioner and the other villagers from carrying out the renovation work. In this regard, the petitioner lodged a complaint, and CSR No.114 of 2026 was issued on 27.03.2026. However, no further action has been taken. Hence, the present writ petition. 4. Mr. D. Rajaboopathy, learned Government Advocate (Criminal Side) appearing for respondent Nos.1 and 2, submitted that a proper inquiry had already been conducted and the matter was closed. 5. The Revenue Divisional Officer, Madurai West, Madurai is suo motu impleaded as Respondent No.9 in the present writ petition. M/s.M.R.Priyanka Jothi, learned Government Advocate (civil side) takes notice for 9th respondent. 6. Heard the learned Counsels appearing on either side and perused the materials available on record. 7.
Considering the submissions made on either side, the ninth respondent is directed to consider the petitioner's representation dated 12.06.2026, issue notice to the petitioner, the Seven Karaikarargal, and all other necessary parties, and take appropriate steps for the peaceful reconstruction/renovation of the said temple. The aforesaid exercise shall be completed within a period of three weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. 8.
