GP (P) for R1. https://www.mhc.tn.gov.in/judis WP No. 28344 of 2026 __________ Page2 of 5 ORDER This Writ Petition has been filed for the following reliefs:- “directing the First respondent to grant approval of the petitioners appointment as Trained Graduate teacher in the second respondent school with effect from the date of petitioners appointment i.e. 27.06.2001 by considering the petitioner representation dated 7.3.2026 and the proposals of the second respondent school dated 18.6.2012 and 11.12.2025 and grant her all consequential benefits within a time limit to be stipulated by this honble court. 2. The petitioner is working as a Trained Graduate Teacher (Science) at St. Joseph's Government Aided High School, Muthialpet, Puducherry. She was initially appointed as a Primary School Teacher on 27.06.2001 at Immaculate Government Aided High School, Villianur, in a newly created post. Thereafter, she was transferred to her present school on 03.07.2005 under the same management and has been working as a Trained Graduate Teacher ever since. The petitioner possesses the requisite qualifications, namely, B.Sc. (Physics), B.Ed., and C-TET, and is fully qualified to hold the post of Trained Graduate Teacher. 3. The Director of School Education, Government of Puducherry, issued proceedings dated 29.05.2012 calling for necessary proposals for approval of https://www.mhc.tn.gov.in/judis WP No. 28344 of 2026 __________ Page3 of 5 appointments. Pursuant thereto, the School Management submitted a proposal on 18.06.2012, along with all the required documents and particulars, seeking approval of the petitioner’s appointment. Subsequently, on 11.12.2015, the School Management made a further representation to the first Respondent, requesting approval of the petitioner’s appointment as Trained Graduate Teacher and release of the grant-in-aid. However, no orders have been passed. 4. Thereafter, the petitioner submitted a representation dated 07.03.2026 through the Correspondent of the School requesting the first Respondent to approve her appointment as Trained Graduate Teacher from the date of her appointment and to release the grant-in-aid, enabling her to draw salary in the applicable scale of pay. Despite the representation, no orders have been passed. Hence, the petitioner is constrained to approach this Court seeking the reliefs stated supra. 5. Heard the learned counsel on either side and perused the records. 6. Considering the limited relief sought by the petitioner and in the absence of any serious objection from the learned counsel appearing for the respondents, this Court, without going into the merits of the case, directs the 2nd respondent to consider the petitioner's representation dated 07.03.2026, by taking into account the proposals submitted by the School Management dated https://www.mhc.tn.gov.in/judis WP No. 28344 of 2026 __________ Page4 of 5 18.06.2012 and 11.12.2025, and pass appropriate orders on merits and in accordance with law, within a period of 6 weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. 7.
