3. In the petitioner’s village, there is a dispute between four groups with regard to worship and priest appointment for the Kaliamman Temple situated at Parukkal Village, Udayarpalayam Taluk, Ariyalur District. The 6th respondent kept the temple under lock and key. It was challenged by one Desikan before this Court in W.P.No.6670 of 2025 and for a direction to the respondents 5 and 6 herein to unlock and return the keys of the temple to the petitioner therein for performing daily pooja to the deity at the said Temple.
By an order dated 26.02.2025, this Court appointed one Veeramani as a common person to perform the daily pooja to the deity Kaliamman Temple situated at Parukkal Village, Udayarpalayam Taluk, Ariyalur District. 4. However, it was not complied with and as such, the said Veeramani filed contempt petition in Cont.P.No.2080 of 2025 before this Court. This Court by an order dated 30.07.2025 directed the 6th respondent herein to open the temple and poojas shall be performed by two persons from ‘A’ party and two persons from ‘B’ party. Further, this Court directed if any claim of pooja relief of both the parties, they are at liberty to approach the Civil Court for appropriate relief. However, it was not complied with and as such, the said Veeramani filed sub application in the said Contempt Petition in Sub Application No.932 of 2025, in which this Court directed to 4/8 https://www.mhc.tn.gov.in/judis
W.P.Crl.No.1456 of 2026 handover one set of key to ‘A’ party and another set of key to ‘B’ party to conduct their daily poojas as directed by this Court. After compliance of the said order, the contempt petition was closed. 5. Thereafter, on the representation submitted by the Villager, the 2nd respondent conducted enquiry and passed an order that ‘B’ party illegally constructed new Kaliamman Temple and directed them to maintain status quo. Thereafter, in the month of May-2026, ‘A’ party sought permission for conducting function for the Old Kaliamman Temple. Simultaneously, the ‘B’ party sought permission for conducting function for the New Kaliamman Temple. However, the 2nd respondent again conducted enquiry and passed an order on 27.05.2026 that there would be law and order issue between ‘A’ and ‘B’ parties to conduct festival in both Old and New Kaliamman temple and directed both ‘A’ and ‘B’ parties to maintain status quo. 6. Thereafter, the respondents 7 to 21 namely ‘B’ parties conducted Kumbabishegam function for the New Kaliamman Temple on 29.05.2026. However, there is no law and order problem.
After a period of one month, on 26.06.2026 there are cases registered in Crime Nos.220 of 2026 and 222 5/8 https://www.mhc.tn.gov.in/judis
W.P.Crl.No.1456 of 2026 of 2026 as against both ‘A’ and ‘B’ parties with regard to other allegations and not related to conduct of Kumbabishegam to the New Kaliamman Temple. Therefore, the representations submitted by the petitioner seeking appropriate action as against the respondents 7 to 21 for violation of the order passed by the 2nd respondent dated 27.05.2026 cannot be considered and the writ petition is devoid of merits and dismissed. 7. As already directed by this Court in W.P.No.6670 of 2025, dated 26.02.2026, if any party claim any right over the above said Temples, they are at liberty to approach the Civil Court for appropriate relief. 8.
