During the renovation of the original market, the weekly market was temporarily shifted to a private property. Though the renovation work was completed about two months ago, the authorities have not reopened the renovated weekly market situated adjacent to the Bus Stand. It is further submitted that the temporary private market has also been closed. Consequently, the petitioner and other similarly placed vegetable vendors have been put to great hardship and have suffered substantial loss. Hence, the present Writ Petition has been filed. 4.When the matter is taken up for hearing today, the learned 3/6 https://www.mhc.tn.gov.in/judis W.P(MD)No.20949 of 2026 counsel for State appearing for the respondents 1 to 3 submitted that the weekly market would be reopened either today (23.07.2026) or tomorrow (24.07.2026), before 5.00 p.m., and that the vegetable vendors, including the petitioner and the members of the fourth respondent Association, would be permitted to carry on their business in the said market from Sunday, i.e., 26.07.2026 onwards. 5.Recording the above submission made by the learned counsel for State appearing for the respondents 1 to 3, this Writ Petition stands disposed of. There shall be no order as to costs.
