By consent of the learned counsel appearing on either side, the Writ Petition is taken up for final disposal at the stage of admission itself. 2/6 https://www.mhc.tn.gov.in/judis W.P(MD)No.20497 of 2026 3.The learned counsel appearing for the petitioner submitted that the petitioner had executed a Settlement Deed in favour of his eldest son, Mr. Sudhagar, which was registered as Document No.973 of 2016, dated 30.07.2016, on the file of the Sub-Registrar Office, Perungalur, Pudukkottai District. According to the learned counsel, the petitioner has sought cancellation of the said Settlement Deed by submitting a representation dated 22.12.2025 to the competent authority. Since the said representation is still pending consideration without any orders being passed thereon, the petitioner has approached this Court by filing the present Writ Petition. 4.The learned counsel for the petitioner further submitted that the petitioner would be satisfied if this Court issues a direction to the competent authority to consider the petitioner's representation dated 22.12.2025 and pass appropriate orders thereon within a time frame to be fixed by this Court. 3/6 https://www.mhc.tn.gov.in/judis W.P(MD)No.20497 of 2026 5.Considering the facts and circumstances of the case, and without expressing any opinion on the merits of the petitioner's claim, this Writ Petition is disposed of with a direction to the competent authority to consider the petitioner's representation dated 22.12.2025, after affording an adequate opportunity of hearing to the petitioner and any other necessary or interested parties, if any, and thereafter pass appropriate orders on merits and in accordance with law. Such exercise shall be completed as expeditiously as possible, preferably within a period of twelve (12) weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.
