For Respondents : Mr.D.Rajaboopathy - for R1 to R3 Government Advocate (Crl.Side) Mr.M.R.Priyanka Jothi - for R4 Government Advocate (Civil Side) ORDER This Writ Petition is filed seeking to issue a Writ of Mandamus directing the 3rd respondent to provide adequate police protection and permission to conduct the annual temple festival in the Tamil month of Aadi from 20.07.2026 to 30.07.2026 in Sri Ayyanar Samy and Sri Muthu Maariamman and its alied temples are situated at Manjakudi Village, Manamelkudi Taluk, Pudukottai District. 2/6 https://www.mhc.tn.gov.in/judis WP CRL.(MD). The learned counsel for the petitioner submitted that the respondents 5 and 6 are obstructing the petitioner from peacefully participating in the temple festival and the formality is commencing tomorrow(17.07.2026) and sought the indulgence of this Court. 3. The learned Government Advocate submitted that Peace Committee Meeting was conducted between three factions of the villagers before the Revenue Divisonal Officer, Aranthangi on 15/7/2026 and proper resolutions were arrived at by the rival factions where, all the parties have who attended the peace committee meeting consisting of Saiva Pillai, Asaiva Pillai, Agamudiyar, Yadava, Velalar and Devendra Kula Velalar, making it clear that none of the community leaders or community people should claim any first honors or Madagapadi. 4. Heard either sides and carefully perused the materials available on record. Considering the fact that already a Peace Committee Meeting was conducted on 15/7/2026 by the Revenue Divisional Officer, Aranthangi, and in terms of the said decision taken in the Peace Committee meeting dated 15.07.2026 the temple festival Sri Ayyanar Samy and Sri Muthu Maariamman and its alied temples situated at Manjakudi Village, Manamelkudi Taluk, Pudukottai District, is likely to permitted to be conducted, it is made clear that the petitioner, his family members or any of the faction should not be obstructed from participating in all the formalities and participating in the Temple Festival. 6.
