The petition has been filed to implead the petitioner as further respondent in the writ petition. 2. The petitioner herein, who is the resident's association in which the writ petitioner as well as 7th and 8th respondents are members. The learned Senior Counsel insisted that there is a possibility of compromise being entered into among the petitioner, 7th and 8th respondents. However, we have sought details from the Block Development Officer, who is the 6th respondent, specifically giving details as to the name of the Contractor, who was engaged for laying the road, and the contractor, who was engaged for removing the road, the expenditure incurred for laying the road and the expenditure incurred for removing the road. Unfortunately, proper details have not been forwarded to this Court. We have no other option except to direct the District Collector, Madurai to furnish the aforementioned details to this Court. 4. The District Collector, Madurai, may cause inspection of the said place either in person or through officials, gather necessary details about the nature of the encroachment made, if any, by the 7th and 8th respondents as alleged by the writ petitioner herein and file necessary report before this Court as to whether he is interested in protecting the public land and in protecting the unwanted expenditure of public fund by laying the road and https://www.mhc.tn.gov.in/judis WP(MD)No.19015 of 2026 thereafter removing the same.
