UNNI KRISHNAN NAIR ORDER 25/02/2026 Heard Mr. S Banik, learned counsel for the applicant and Mr. I Borthakur, learned Standing counsel, Forest Department appearing for the State respondents. At the outset, Mr. Banik, learned counsel for the applicant has submitted that he would be pressing the present Interlocutory Application only for impleading Sri Binesh Daimary, Forester-II and would not press the same in so far as it concerns, Sri Rajib Ahmed, Forester-I. The petitioner, who is a Forest Guard had approached this Court by way of instituting the connected writ petition praying for consideration of his case for promotion to the rank of Forester Grade-I by rounding of the marks secured by him to 70%. The petitioner had secured 69.52% marks. The present Interlocutory Application has been instituted alleging that one Sri Binesh Page No.# 4/4 Daimary, Forester-II, who was also a Forest Guard and in the recruitment process had secured marks lower than the petitioner was promoted to Forester-II, while the petitioner, who had secured higher marks was not so promoted. Accordingly, he prays for impleading Sri Binesh Daimary, Forester-II as respondent No. 6 in the connected writ petition in the following manner: “Sri Binesh Daimary, Forester-II, posted at Dhansiri Division, Udalguri”. Prayer is not objected to by Mr. I Borthakur, learned Standing counsel, Forest Department. Accordingly, the present Interlocutory Application is allowed permitting the petitioner to implead Sri Binesh Daimary, Forester-II in the manner indicated above as respondent No. 6 in the connected writ petition.
