The present intra-court appeal has been instituted challenging the writ order dated 12.08.2024 passed in WP.No.33646 of 2012. 2. Appellant is now aged about 48 years. Appellant filed a writ of mandamus directing the Teachers Recruitment Board to appoint the petitioner as Assistant Professor in Government Engineering College (2012) in Electronics and Instrumentation Engineering in the examination conducted by the Government of Tamil Nadu, Teachers Recruitment Board on 22.04.2012. 3. The candidature of the appellant was not considered on the ground that he has not completed Under-graduation and Post-graduation degrees on the same discipline. He studied cross major subjects. Thus, the Board found that the appellant is not qualified for recruitment to the post of Assistant Professor. 4. In view of the fact that appellant is now over-aged, and Writ court also considered the fact that appellant has not possessed the Under-graduation and Post-graduation degree on the same discipline. Further, equivalence as relied on by the appellant was of the year 2017. However, the process of recruitment was completed in the year 2012. That being the factum, the later equivalence, if at all granted, would not be applied in respect of the https://www.mhc.tn.gov.in/judis 2026:MHC:3053 WA No. 1995 of 2026 __________ Page3 of 4 recruitment process already concluded. Thus, this Court finds no infirmity in the writ order dated 12.08.2024 passed in WP.No.33646 of 2012 and the same is confirmed. 5. Accordingly, writ appeal stands dismissed. No costs. Consequently, the connected miscellaneous petitions, if any, are closed. (S.M.S.,J.) (N.S.,J.) 17-07-2026 Index: Yes/No Speaking/Non-speaking order Neutral Citation: Yes/No GD To 1.
