The case of the prosecution is that, on 25.06.2026 the petitioners abused the de facto complainant and assaulted her. Hence, the case. 3. The learned counsel for the petitioners would submit that the petitioners are innocent persons and they have not committed any offence as alleged by the prosecution. The learned Government Advocate (Crl.Side), appearing for the respondent Police, reiterated the prosecution case and would strongly oppose to grant anticipatory bail on the ground that the petitioners previously assaulted the de facto complainant in Crime No.324/2024 and in the present case, the accused have also attacked one woman, who intervened to stop the assault, and also harassed her. https://www.mhc.tn.gov.in/judis CRL OP No. 17243 of 2026 __________ Page3 of 4 5. I have given my anxious consideration to either side submissions. 6. Considering the criminal antecedent of the petitioners, particularly the case registered in the year of 2024, that too by the very same de facto complainant, again if the petitioners are granted anticipatory bail, that would definitely shock the conscience of the society in which both the petitioners and the de facto complainant reside and, as a consequence, would adversely affect the moral fabric of the society. Therefore, this Court is not inclined to grant anticipatory bail to the petitioners. 7. Accordingly, this Criminal Original Petition is dismissed. 15-07-2026 KMI To 1.The Inspector of Police, Veppur Police Station, Cuddalore District. 2.The Public Prosecutor Madras High Court. https://www.mhc.tn.gov.in/judis CRL OP No. 17243 of 2026 __________ Page4 of 4 C.KUMARAPPAN, J KMI CRL OP No. 17243 of 2026 15-07-2026 https://www.mhc.tn.gov.in/judis
