Learned Counsel for the petitioners/convict submits that this Court by a judgment dated 2nd March, 2026 has been convicted the petitioners under Section 325 of the Indian Penal Code. It is submitted thereafter the parties had amicably settled their dispute and to that extent they have filed the connected application.
Learned Counsel for the petitioners submits that the petitioners were directed to surrender before the Trial Court below within a period of four weeks from the date of judgment to serve out the sentence and such time is required to be extended as the prayer for compromise is pending before this Court.
Learned Counsel appearing on behalf of the de facto complainant submits that his client has instructed that a compromise has been effected by the parties in the meantime.
2 Having heard learned Counsel appearing on behalf of the parties, the State is directed to submit a report on 16th April, 2026. The time for surrender before the Court below as directed in the
judgment dated 02.03.2026 is hereby extended till 30th April, 2026 or until further order, whichever is earlier. Parties will be at liberty to file supplementary affidavit, if any, in the meantime. Parties to act on a server copy of this order duly collected from the official website of the Hon’ble High Court, Calcutta.
