For Petitioner(s): Ms.M.R.Pramela For Respondent(s): Mr.K.Sathish, GA https://www.mhc.tn.gov.in/judis WP No. 27077 of 2026 __________ Page2 of 5 ORDER This Writ Petition has been filed for the following reliefs:- “calling for the records pertaining to the non-compliance of GO Ms.No. 562 dated 28.09.1998 corresponding Letter No. 9800706/ Finance (PC-II) Department / 2025 dated 11.04.2025 and the deemed rejection of the petitioners claim for one bonus increment , pursuant to the Legal Notice/ Representation dated 6.01.2025 and quash the inaction of the respondents in not granting the said bonus increment to the petitioner as illegal, arbitrary and discriminatory and direct the respondent herein to grant the petitioner one bonus increment under GO Ms.No. 562 dated 28.09.1998 corresponding Letter No. 9800706 / Finance (PC-II) department / 2025 11.04.2025 along with all consequential monetary benefits (including arrears and interest) from the date of her retirement i.e. 30.11.2007 until actual payment.” 2. The case of the petitioner is that she was appointed as a Typist under the control of the respondent, Director of Medical and Rural Health Services, Chennai, on 01.12.1972 and, after rendering about 35 years of service, she retired as Grade-I Typist on 30.11.2007. She is presently receiving a monthly pension of Rs.38,022/- under PPO No. C258208/MED. The Government of Tamil Nadu, vide G.O. Ms. No.562 dated 28.09.1998, subsequently clarified through Letter No.9800706/Finance (PC-II) Department/2025 dated 11.04.2025, https://www.mhc.tn.gov.in/judis WP No. 27077 of 2026 __________ Page3 of 5 granted the benefit of one bonus increment to employees who had stagnated in the same post beyond 30 years. 3. The grievance of the petitioner is that, though she had completed more than 30 years of service in the same cadre and is eligible for the said benefit, the respondents have failed to extend the same to her, while similarly placed employees have been granted such benefit. Therefore, the petitioner had submitted a representation dated 06.01.2025. However, the same has not been considered by the respondents till date. Hence, the petitioner has approached this Court seeking the reliefs stated supra. 4. Heard the learned counsel on either side and perused the records. By consent of the learned counsel on either side, the matter was taken up for final disposal at the stage of admission. 5. Though the Writ Petition has been filed for the reliefs stated supra, which is a convoluted one, the sum and substance of the relief is to consider and pass orders on the petitioner’s representation dated 06.01.2025 in the light of GO.Ms.No.562 dated 28.09.1998. Therefore, considering the relief sought by the petitioner and in the absence of any serious objection from the learned counsel appearing for the respondent, this Court, without going into the merits of the case, directs the respondents to consider and pass appropriate orders on https://www.mhc.tn.gov.in/judis WP No. 27077 of 2026 __________ Page4 of 5 the petitioner's representation dated 06.01.2025, in the light of GO.Ms.No.562 dated 28.09.1998, on merits and in accordance with law within a period of three months from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. 6. Accordingly, the writ petition is disposed of.
