The case of the petitioner is that she is working as a Women Head Constable (WHC No.12211) at All Women Police Station, Avadi, Avadi Police Commissionerate, and has rendered more than 22 years of unblemished service from 03.03.2003. She was promoted as Grade-I Police Constable on 01.04.2013 and as Women Head Constable on 01.04.2018. 3. The grievance of the petitioner is that, due to fixation of pay consequent upon promotion and annual increment, her junior, who was appointed subsequently, is drawing higher pay than the petitioner, resulting in a pay anomaly. According to the petitioner, she is entitled for stepping up of pay under Fundamental Rule 22-B, Ruling (2), as similarly placed persons have already been granted such benefit vide CPO No.102/2021 dated 18.03.2021. The second respondent, after verification of records, forwarded a proposal dated 17.07.2023 recommending grant of the said benefit to the petitioner. However, the same has not been considered by the first respondent. Therefore, the petitioner had submitted several representations, the last of which was dated 04.03.2026, seeking rectification of the pay anomaly by implementing the proposal forwarded by the second respondent dated 17.07.2023. Heard the learned counsel on either side and perused the records. By consent of the learned counsel on either side, the matter was taken up for final disposal at the stage of admission. 5. Considering the relief sought by the petitioner and in the absence of any serious objection from the learned counsel appearing for the respondents, this Court, without going into the merits of the case, directs the 1st respondent to consider and pass appropriate orders on the petitioner's representation dated 04.03.2026, taking into consideration the proposal forwarded by the second respondent dated 17.07.2023, on merits and in accordance with law, within a period of eight weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. 6. Accordingly, the writ petition is disposed of.
