We have heard Mr.P.Pugalenthi, learned counsel for petitioner and Mr.C.R.Malarvannan, learned counsel for Government of Tamil Nadu (Criminal Side) for respondents. 2. The writ petition has been filed seeking a mandamus directing the respondents to consider representation dated 14.07.2026 that contains a slew of averments / allegations in regard to the officials in the Salem Prison and seeks medical attention for Gopi (convict), who is confined in Central Prison, Salem. 3. A detailed counter has been filed answering the allegations and also setting out their version of events. 4. On the date of admission on 20.07.2026, in light of the fact that certain assertions had been made in regard to the medical condition of the convict, we had perused the medical report and expressed dissatisfaction with the same. In light of the aforesaid, there is nothing further remains to be adjudicated upon in this writ petition, as the prayer of the petitioner is itself only for direction to the authorities to dispose the representation of the petitioner. The Deputy Inspector General of Prisons, Coimbatore Range / R3 will consider representation dated 14.07.2026 and dispose the same in line with the extant Rules and Regulations, as expeditiously as possible. 6.
