The present intra-court appeals have been instituted challenging the common writ order dated 21.11.2023 passed in W.P.Nos.11437, 11441, 11370, 11363, 9947, 11439, 9747 and of 2021. 2. The appellants were appointed as Livestock Assistant/Inspector Grade II in Tamil Nadu Animal Husbandry Subordinate Service in the year 1998. They have completed the degree of Bachelor of Veterinary Science (B.V.Sc.,) in the year 2003. Pertinently, the appellants have continued in the post of the Livestock Inspector, and after 10 years of service from the date of passing of B.V.Sc., appellants were considered for promotion to the post of Veterinary Assistant Surgeon. All the appellants have retired from service. 3. They set out a claim by stating that they became eligible to hold the post of Veterinary Assistant Surgeon in the year 2003 on completion of B.V.Sc., course. Therefore, their services in the post of Veterinary Assistant Surgeon is to be regularized with effect from the year 1998, the date on which they were initially appointed as Livestock Inspector. 4. The very claim set out by the appellants is absolutely misconceived. They were appointed as Livestock Inspectors. They have completed B.V.Sc., in year 2003. As per the Service Rule and on completion of 10 years of https://www.mhc.tn.gov.in/judis 2026:MHC:3052 WA No. 1849 of 2026 __________ Page3 of 5 service, they were appointed as Assistant Veterinary Surgeon. After retiring from service, they cannot claim retrospective appointment, which is unknown to service jurisprudence. 5. The claim of the appellants are stale. The Writ Court has elaborately considered and made a finding that appellants are not entitled for any relief, and consequently dismissed the writ petitions. 6. This Court does not find any infirmity in the common writ order dated 21.11.2023 made in W.P.Nos.11437, 11441, 11370, 11363, 9947, 11439, 9747 and of 2021. Accordingly, the writ appeals are dismissed. No costs. Consequently, the connected miscellaneous petitions, if any, are closed. (S.M.S.,J.)
