This Writ Petition has been filed for issuance of Writ of Mandamus, directing the respondent to pay the petitioner interest at the rate of 6% per annum in paying the amounts paid towards the terminal benefits payable for the services of her deceased husband/employee (Late) C.Arockiasami, Staff No.CR14182, namely EPF Employee's Contribution for the period of delay from 01.11.24 to 19.03.26 and Encashment of leave for the period of delay from 01.11.24 to 09.04.26, without affecting the right to claim balance amounts towards those benefits. 3. With the consent of both sides, this writ petition is disposed of at the admission stage. 4. Learned counsel for the petitioner submits that the petitioner's husband, C. Arockiasami, Staff No. CR14182, who was working in the respondent Corporation, died on 31.10.2024 while in service. The respondent paid only the principal amounts towards the terminal benefits. However, it failed to calculate and pay the interest for the period of delay in disbursing the said benefits. Though the petitioner submitted a representation dated 02.06.2026 requesting the respondent to pay the interest for the delayed payment, no response was evoked. Hence, she has approached this Court by filing the present Writ Petition. 2/5 https://www.mhc.tn.gov.in/judis W.P.(MD)No.19415 of 2026 5.
