This Writ Petition has been filed for issuance of Writ of Mandamus, directing the respondents to pay the 6% interest on the delayed payment of Commutation amount of Rs.16,55,155/- paid to the petitioner, from the date of his retirement i.e., 31.07.2024 to actual payment made on 02.12.2025, in view of the petitioner's representation dated 12.03.2026. 3. With the consent of both sides, this writ petition is disposed of at the admission stage. 4. Learned counsel on either side unanimously agree that the issue involved in this writ petition is squarely covered by various Judgments passed by the Division Bench of this Court in W.A.(MD) No.403 of 2010 and batch, dated 07.04.2014 and W.A.(MD) No.1419 of 2021 and batch, dated 26.07.2021. 2/4 https://www.mhc.tn.gov.in/judis W.P.(MD)No.19933 of 2026 5. In the said circumstances, this writ petition is allowed and the respondents are directed to pay interest at the rate of 6% per annum for the belated payment of Commutation amount of Rs.16,55,155/- paid to the petitioner, from the date of his retirement i.e., 31.07.2024 to actual payment made on 02.12.2025. The respondents are further directed to comply with the said direction as expeditiously as possible, at any rate, within a period of five months from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.
