The learned counsel appearing for the petitioner submitted that the petitioner is in occupation of Shop No.50, Multiple Car Parking Market, situated at Central Market, Madurai Corporation, Zone-III, Madurai District, and requires an independent electricity service connection for carrying on the business in the said premises. It is submitted that, despite submitting a representation dated 04.02.2026 to the competent authorities seeking electricity service connection, no orders have been passed thereon so far. Aggrieved by the inaction on the part of the respondents, the petitioner has approached this Court by filing the present Writ Petition. 4.The learned counsel further submitted that the petitioner would be satisfied if this Court issues a direction to the competent authority to consider the petitioner's representation dated 04.02.2026 and pass appropriate orders thereon within a time frame to be fixed by this Court.

W.P(MD)No.20415 of 2026 5.Considering the facts and circumstances of the case, and without expressing any opinion on the merits of the petitioner's claim, this Writ Petition is disposed of with a direction to the competent authority to consider the petitioner's representation dated 04.02.2026, after affording an opportunity of hearing to the petitioner as well as to any other interested or affected parties, if any, and thereafter pass appropriate orders on merits and in accordance with law. Such exercise shall be completed as expeditiously as possible, preferably within a period of six (6) weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.
