Saify, Advocate for the Sugar Mill. 2. By means of this writ petition, petitioner has sought the following reliefs: i. Issue writ order or direction in the nature of certiorari quashing the impugned order dated 02.04.2025 (Annexure No. 15 Page No. 64 to the writ petition) passed by the respondent no. 5. ii. Issue writ order or direction in the nature of mandamus commanding and directing the respondents to consider the case of the petitioner for compassionate appointment in terms of Policy dated 17.01.2006 (Annexure No. 1 Page No. 27 to 32 to the writ petition). In alternate direct the respondent authorities to pay ex-gratia amount alongwith 18% interest per annum in terms of Policy dated 17.01.2006 (Annexure No. 1 Page No. 27 to32 to the writ petition).” 3. Learned counsel for the petitioner submits that petitioner do not want to press relief No. 1 and he is confining prayer to relief No. 2 alone. 4. It is not in dispute that petitioner’s father was employed as Mazdoor in Nadehi Cooperative Sugar Mill Limited, who died while in harness. 5. Petitioner has applied for compassionate appointment; however, his prayer is not being considered by the competent authority. 6. Learned counsel for the petitioner submits that 2026:UHC:3522 competent authority be directed to take decision in the matter at the earliest. 7. The writ petition is, accordingly, disposed of with a direction to respondent No. 4 to take decision on petitioner’s application as per law, within four months from date of presentation of certified copy of this order.
