For Petitioner : Mr.P.Shanmugapriya For Respondent : Mrs.S.Devasena Standing Counsel 1/4 https://www.mhc.tn.gov.in/judis W.P(MD)No.20240 of 2026 ORDER This Writ Petition has been filed seeking the issuance of a Writ of Mandamus directing the respondent to remove the garbage littering the petitioner's land comprised in Survey No.183/2, measuring an extent of 2005 sq.ft., situated at Uthangudi Village, Madurai North Taluk, Madurai District, in accordance with Section 177 of the Tamil Nadu Urban Local Bodies Act, 1998, based on the representation submitted by the petitioner dated 20.06.2026, within a time frame to be stipulated by this Court. 2.The learned counsel appearing for the petitioner submitted that the respondent has failed to remove the garbage dumped in the petitioner's land despite the petitioner's representation. Aggrieved by the inaction on the part of the respondent, the present Writ Petition has been filed. 3.When the matter is taken up for hearing today, the learned Standing Counsel appearing for the respondent submitted that the garbage littering the petitioner's land has been removed. Refuting the said 2/4 https://www.mhc.tn.gov.in/judis W.P(MD)No.20240 of 2026 submission, the learned counsel appearing for the petitioner submitted that the garbage has merely been shifted to a nearby land and has not been properly removed. 4.In view of the above, the respondent is directed to remove the garbage shifted to the nearby land and ensure its proper disposal, within a period of four weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. 5.Recording the above submission and direction, this Writ Petition stands disposed of.
