WP No. 9044 of 2026 __________ Page2 of 4 ORDER The impugned order has been passed under Section 205 of the Tamil Nadu Panchayats Act, 1994, removing the petitioner from the office of Village Panchayat President. Against such an order, an effective statutory remedy of appeal is available under Section 205(12) of the Act. 2. In view of the availability of the aforesaid alternative remedy, the writ petition, filed without exhausting the statutory appellate remedy, is not maintainable. Accordingly, the writ petition is disposed of, reserving liberty to the petitioner to file an appeal before the competent appellate authority under Section 205(12) of the Act. If such an appeal is filed, the appellate authority shall entertain and decide the same on its own merits, without rejecting it on the ground of limitation, and shall dispose of the appeal within six weeks from the date of its filing. Consequently, the connected miscellaneous petition is closed.
