The petitioner has approached this Court seeking writ of mandamus directing respondent No.2 to mutate his name in the revenue records pertaining to CTS No.3337/7, measuring 360.93 square meters, situated at Haveri town, by deleting the names of the vendor Shri Swamy Rao Ramchandra Feerajabadi, in terms of the decree passed by the Court of the Principal Civil Judge and CJM, Haveri, in O.S.No.62 of 2017, and in pursuance of the representation submitted by the petitioner at Annexures D and E. 2. Heard the learned counsel for the petitioner and learned AGA for respondents. Perused the records. 3. The petitioner claims to be the absolute owner and in lawful possession of the property bearing CTS No.3337/7, measuring 360.93 square meters, situated at Haveri Town. The said property originally belonged to one Shri Swamy Rao Ramchandra Feerajabadi and - 3 - HC-KAR NC: 2026:KHC-D:342 WP No. 100209 of 2026 was purchased by the petitioner9s brother under a registered sale deed dated 13.02.1998. Subsequently, in a compromise decree arrived at between the petitioner and his brother in O.S.No.62 of 2017, the property fell to the share of the petitioner under a decree of the competent Civil Court. 4. The grievance of the petitioner is that, despite submitting repeated representations along with supporting documents, including the registered sale deed, property tax receipts, and the decree passed in O.S.No.62 of 2017, the respondent authority has not effected mutation of his name in the revenue records. 5. Learned AGA appearing for the respondents submits that the representations submitted by the petitioner would be considered in accordance with law. 6. Having regard to the submission made and considering that the petitioner9s claim is founded on a Civil Court9s decree, this Court is of the view that the - 4 - HC-KAR NC: 2026:KHC-D:342 WP No. 100209 of 2026 grievance of the petitioner can be appropriately addressed, by issuing a direction to the competent authority to consider representations and pass orders in accordance with law. Accordingly, this Court pass the following: ORDER i. The writ petition is allowed. ii. Respondent No.2 is directed to consider petitioner9s representations (Annexures D and E), and effect mutation of the petitioner9s name in the Register pertaining to CTS No.3337/7, measuring 360.93 square meters, after taking into consideration the registered sale deed, property Tax Receipts and the decree passed in O.S. No.62 of 2017, and pass appropriate orders in accordance with law within a period of six weeks from the date of receipt of a certified copy of this order.
