JUSTICE R.K. PATTANAIK Order No. ORDER 26.02.2026 01. 1. Heard learned counsel for the petitioner and State. 2. Instant petition has been filed under Section 482 BNSS by the petitioner seeking pre-arrest bail in connection with Angul Sadar P.S. Case No.31 of 2026 corresponding to G.R. Case No.95 of 2026 pending in the court of learned S.D.J.M., Angul on the grounds stated. 3. Perused the FIR as at Annexure-1. The alleged incident is narrated in the report and it appears that the petitioner committed the alleged overt act and caused injury to the informant. According to learned counsel for the petitioner, of of such injuries is grievous. The further submission is that the petitioner was in a drunken condition, at the time when, the incident took place. Recorded the objection of the State. Considering the manner of assault causing grievous injury to the informant, this Court is not inclined to consider pre-arrest bail as has been demanded by the petitioner, however, directs him to surrender before the learned court below seeking regular bail for disposal as per the direction hereinbelow 4. Accordingly, it is ordered. 5. In the result, the ABLAPL is disposed of with the direction as aforesaid. It is further directed that in the event, the petitioner surrenders within a fortnight from today before learned S.D.J.M., Angul in connection with Angul Sadar P.S. Case No.31 of 2026 corresponding to G.R. Case No.95 of 2026 and moves an application for bail, it shall be duly considered and in case rejected during the first hour, he shall approach the learned Sessions Court during the second hour for orders on the same day and for the said purpose, the relevant record shall be made available. 6.
